Can I still register if I don’t pay the registration fee?

Yes! Fill out the entire survey for registration. Once you have a credit/debit card to pay, you can return to the form to pay at another time. If you are approved for a scholarship, you will be notified and our staff will waive the registration fee.  Click here to complete your registration questions.

 

When will I know if I will received a scholarship or not? 

The priority deadline to apply for a scholarship is September 1st. For those applications received before September 1st, we are reviewing on a case by case basis and will notify applicants within 2 weeks. We will notify all applicants no later than September 8th of their approval. Participants who request a scholarship after the priority deadline will be reviewed after September 8th when initial notifications have been sent.

 

Can I invite others or share information about the conference publicly? 

This is an invite only conference. If you have suggestions for invitations please send their full name and email to us at OnTheRise [at] naacpldf [dot] org. Registration is on a first come, first served basis so we will continue to send out invitations until all the spots are filled. So while you may talk about the conference in your network spaces, we otherwise are asking invitees to refrain from posting publicly about the conference. In early October we will share more information about public posting during the event.


Will there be a livestream or virtual option for the conference? 

The conference is completely in-person with no virtual components for any portions.

 

I need special accommodations, how do I request them? 

When registering for the conference please indicate what special accommodations you may need and staff will follow up separately with you to confirm. For hotel rooms, when booking your room there is an option to indicate you need an ADA room.

 

How do I book a hotel room?

We have a discounted block of rooms reserved for the conference, from October 17th – October 24th. You must check in by the 21st to receive the discounted rate. If applying for a hotel scholarship, we will only cover the nights of the conference (October 18-21st).

 

What is the COVID-19 policy?

In accordance with LDF policy, masks are optional but strongly encouraged. Additionally we request all participants to have a confirmed negative COVID-19 rapid or PCR test within 24 hours of attending the event. LDF will provide a limited number of rapid tests on site for those who need them. Please review the COVID-19 Liability waiver attached in your registration packet or on the event page above. If you test positive at any point during the event please notify us immediately by email to OnTheRise [at] naacpldf [dot] org.  We cannot guarantee refunds as a result of a positive COVID-19 test. We will assess them on a case by case basis.

 

When will the agenda for the conference be released? 

The conference agenda will be posted on the conference website by early September. We are using the Eventene app and strongly encourage all participants to download it for free from their respective app store. The different conference sessions will be loaded into the app and participants will be able to register in advance for the workshops they’re interested in leading up to and during the conference.  There will also be polls and feedback surveys exclusive to the app.
