On the Rise: Building Black Political Power

Democracy within the United States remains under a threat from anti-democratic actors. From massive voter suppression to major civil rights rollbacks, it is clear that our democracy is in crisis from the ballots to the Supreme Court. There has never been a clearer mandate for frontline movements to come together to defend and expand democracy than now. 

After many months of planning the Legal Defense Fund is excited to officially announce our inaugural National Movement Building Conference titled On the Rise: Building Black Political Power! LDF seeks to bring together organizers, partners, and experts in the racial justice sector from across the country who are working in the 4 primary areas of criminal justice, political participation, economic justice, and education equity to engage in rigorous landscape analysis and skills building as a collective.
